In a fast-paced world with demands coming in from multiple environments and relationships, it can be difficult to pinpoint the source of our stress or anxiety. We may also face societal pressures or cultural expectations pertaining to how we express or manage our emotional state. Thus, clients may not fully understand their emotions or the cause of their distress, which can have a negative impact on their well-being. Having the courage to start therapy can help clients gain a deeper self understanding. Therapy provides clients with the individualized tools to manage life’s stressors and control the impact they have on their functionality.

I utilize a person-centred approach that provides clients with a safe space to achieve self awareness and understanding. Clients drive the discussion and objective of each session and set goals that are achievable and relevant to their lives. Using motivational interviewing I will help them navigate their thoughts and feelings as they surface, while providing non-judgemental space of empathy and compassion. A solution focused approach also increases clients’ self esteem and confidence to face obstacles that arise in everyday life. I help clients identify and enhance their individualized strengths and skills that they can then apply to potential future stressors.

One of my top priorities is creating a space where clients feel like they can be their authentic selves without judgement. I want to ensure that clients feel safe and supported in their therapeutic journey. Through the establishment of a meaningful and trusting relationship I can help enable my clients to work through their presenting concerns and achieve their therapeutic goals.
