Maybe something specific happened. An accident, an assault, a loss that arrived without warning and changed everything after it. Or maybe it’s harder to name than that. A childhood that left you guarded. A relationship that slowly eroded your sense of self. Years of chronic stress, neglect, or instability that never looked dramatic from the outside but shaped you profoundly on the inside.
Either way, you’ve likely tried to outrun it. To stay busy enough, logical enough, functional enough that it doesn’t catch up. And for a while, that works. Until it doesn’t.
Trauma has a way of making itself known. In the relationships that keep hitting the same wall. In the reactivity that surprises even you. In the exhaustion of always being slightly braced for something, even when nothing is wrong.

We work with the full range of traumatic experience. That includes single-incident trauma such as accidents, assaults, medical emergencies, and sudden loss. It includes PTSD, where a specific event or series of events has produced persistent and debilitating symptoms that significantly disrupt daily functioning.
And it includes complex trauma, which develops from prolonged or repeated exposure to traumatic experiences, most often in childhood. Complex trauma can look like emotional neglect, physical or sexual abuse, growing up in an unsafe or unpredictable household, or years of relational instability. It tends to affect identity, self-worth, and the capacity for trust in ways that go deeper than single-incident trauma, and it requires a treatment approach that accounts for that complexity. We also work with first responders, healthcare workers, and others who have experienced occupational trauma or cumulative exposure to distressing events over time.
If you’re unsure whether what you’ve experienced qualifies, that conversation is exactly what the free consultation is for.
